Today You’ll Create

🌿 Tiny Happiness Jar

Today, you’ll transform a simple jar into a personal collection of joy, gratitude, encouragement, and meaningful memories.

Decorate your jar using the creative materials provided, then fill it with small notes that remind you of the people, places, experiences, and everyday moments that bring happiness into your life.

Your Tiny Happiness Jar can become:

  • A daily gratitude practice
  • A source of encouragement on difficult days
  • A family activity
  • A memory keeper
  • A thoughtful handmade gift
  • A reminder to notice the little things

There is no right or wrong way to create your jar. Choose the materials, colors, textures, and words that feel meaningful to you.

At the end of the workshop, your finished jar is yours to take home.

Meet Today’s Community

Creativity is even more meaningful when it brings people together.

Take a moment to introduce yourself to someone you haven’t met yet. Ask what inspired them to attend, what they enjoy creating, or what they hope to experience at The Re-Creation Studio.

Today’s gathering includes friends, family members, artists, makers, creative beginners, local supporters, and people who simply want more connection and creativity in their lives.

You do not need to consider yourself an artist to belong here.

Conversation starters:

  • What is something small that made you happy this week?
  • What did you enjoy creating as a child?
  • What is one creative activity you would love to try?
  • What color, texture, or material are you drawn to today?
  • What kind of workshop would you like the studio to offer?

Please be respectful when taking photos or videos of other guests. Always ask permission before posting someone online.

Workshop Instructions

Step 1: Choose Your Jar

Select a jar and make sure the outside is clean and dry.

Step 2: Explore the Materials

Look through the available ribbons, paper, fabric, paint, flowers, embellishments, words, images, natural materials, and reclaimed supplies.

Choose what speaks to you. You do not need to use everything.

Step 3: Create Your Design

Decorate the outside of your jar using your selected materials.

You can keep your design simple, create a theme, use your favorite colors, or allow the design to evolve as you work.

Step 4: Create Your Happiness Notes

Use the provided paper slips to write down moments, memories, people, places, hopes, affirmations, or experiences that bring you happiness.

Your notes can be specific or simple.

Examples:

  • Morning coffee
  • A peaceful sunset
  • Creating something with my hands
  • A friend who checks on me
  • Music that lifts my mood
  • A place where I feel safe
  • Something I am proud of
  • A lesson I have learned
  • Something I am looking forward to

Step 5: Fill Your Jar

Fold your notes and place them inside.

You can add all of your notes today or continue adding new ones at home.

Step 6: Add the Finishing Touches

Review your jar and add any final decorations, words, labels, ribbons, or details.

Step 7: Take It Home

Place your Tiny Happiness Jar somewhere you will see it often.

Pull out a note whenever you need encouragement—or add a new moment of happiness whenever something meaningful happens.

Creative Reminder

Your project does not need to look like anyone else’s.

The purpose is not perfection. The purpose is expression, reflection, creativity, and connection.
