How a Lifetime of Creating Became The Re-Creation Studio
For most of my life, I didn't realize I was building toward this.
I thought I was simply collecting jobs, learning new skills, trying new businesses, and figuring life out as I went.
But looking back now, I can see that every chapter was preparing me for this one.
Every job.
Every mistake.
Every success.
Every person I met.
Every piece of art I created.
None of it was wasted.
It was all part of becoming.
We Are Always Re-Creating Ourselves
Life has a funny way of pulling us in unexpected directions.
I've worked in retail, hospitality, event planning, customer service, management, marketing, visual merchandising, entrepreneurship, community outreach, branding, design, and creative education.
At the time, many of those jobs seemed unrelated.
Today I realize they were all teaching me something different.
How to serve people.
How to organize chaos.
How to solve problems creatively.
How to build relationships.
How to create beautiful experiences.
How to lead with kindness.
Those lessons became pieces of who I am.
Creativity Was Always There
As a little girl, I was always making something.
Drawing.
Painting.
Crafting.
Rearranging my room.
Finding beauty in things other people overlooked.
I never really stopped creating.
Sometimes creativity was my hobby.
Sometimes it became my career.
Sometimes it was simply how I healed.
Art became the language I spoke whenever words weren't enough.
Becoming Journey's Mom Changed Everything
The greatest masterpiece I've ever been trusted to help create isn't something hanging on a wall.
It's my daughter, Journey.
Motherhood changed how I see creativity.
It reminded me that creating isn't always about making beautiful things.
Sometimes creating means building a safe home.
Creating memories.
Creating traditions.
Creating confidence.
Creating wonder.
Watching the world through her eyes reminded me why imagination matters.
Children naturally believe anything is possible.
Adults often forget.
I want The Re-Creation Studio to help people remember.
We Don't Need More Stuff
We Need More Experiences.
Some of my favorite memories have nothing to do with things I bought.
They came from creating something together.
Painting.
Laughing.
Making gifts by hand.
Trying something new.
Sharing stories around a table.
Getting messy.
Celebrating imperfections.
That's the kind of life I want to help create.
Because people rarely remember what they purchased.
They remember how they felt.
The Beauty of Re-Creation
One of my favorite things has always been taking something overlooked and giving it new life.
Old furniture.
Driftwood.
Vintage finds.
Discarded materials.
Broken treasures.
With a little imagination, they become something entirely new.
Over time I realized people aren't much different.
We all carry broken pieces.
Old stories.
Failures.
Dreams we've put away.
But none of those things define us.
Like reclaimed art, we can always become something new.
That is the heart behind The Re-Creation Studio.
Why I Built The Re-Creation Studio
I didn't build this studio just to teach art classes.
I built it because I believe people need places where they feel welcome to create without judgment.
Places where adults remember how to play.
Where families make memories together.
Where strangers become friends.
Where local artists are celebrated.
Where creativity builds community.
Where imperfection is embraced.
Where ideas become reality.
This studio isn't just about art.
It's about people.
Success Looks Different Now
There was a time when I believed success meant having all the answers.
Now I know better.
Success is waking up excited to do meaningful work.
Helping someone discover they are creative.
Watching a child proudly hold something they made.
Seeing neighbors connect around a workshop table.
Building something that makes my daughter proud one day.
That's success to me.
The Art of Becoming Never Ends
I don't have everything figured out.
I'm still learning.
Still growing.
Still making mistakes.
Still dreaming bigger.
And honestly...
I hope I always am.
Because becoming isn't something we finish.
It's something we practice.
Every single day.
